My fifteen year old daughter has very long curly hair and she swears by Garneirs Fructis for all of her hair products. And yes she’s Afro-American also. A lot of the times you can find the products on sale in one of the drug store circulars. We go to Rite Aid and Walgreen’s the most. I know several other Afro-Americans who also use the products I hope this helps you, I’m not sure how long your hair is but my daughter’s hair is about two to three feet long and if you wet it it curls up and loses about a foot of hair. When she leaves it to dry by it’s self it will curl up into spiral curls. Her hair is also thick so these things might also help you like they did her.

I’m white but I ordered a cream that is meant to make your hair grow fast and I didn’t read probably before I brought it and it’s for black people. Will it still work on my hair??? =\ I’m white? I can’t cancel the item on ebay….?!
It depends. What is the product?
Dr. Miracle’s should not damage your hair. It has a lot of oils in it which will weigh down your hair if too much is used. What it does is stimulate the scalp so it can encourage growth. Check out their website and look at the ingredients for the product that you purchased. This will help you to make a decision.
In the event that you chose not to use the product, you can post and sell the product on e-bay too.

Recently permed thick black hair but notice that whenever I comb it long strands fall from the root with the follicles still on. If i comb 3 times for the day, i get the same result. I was introduced to Perfectil pill for hair, skin and nail but read where the majority said it didnt work. Can anyone recommend anything to improve hair strength and to promote growth?
Kelp tablets.
You can get them from any health store for about £10…
Given the average rate of hair growth – one-half inch per month – you can expect to need around two years to get the length you want. This accounts for regular trimming to maintain healthy hair and keep split ends under control. Five months is too long to wait between trimmings, though. I suggest that you have your hair “trimmed” (and only trimmed) every 6-8 weeks. This will allow you to gain 2-to-2-1/4 inches every six months and keep the hair in great shape.
Trimming isn’t the only important step. It is a great idea to discontinue the harsh chemical processes, but you also need to make sure to care for your hair in other ways. A good thing to look for is a shampoo and conditioner with a smooth and sleek formula. These will help to control frizz and split ends and keep the hair looking healthy.
When you do use a straightener or other heat styling process, be sure to prepare the hair by using a leave-in conditioner, or other protective product. Avoid styling products that contain alcohol. These can dry the hair out and cause frizz and breakage. Also be sure to keep the heat settings on your hair appliances as low as possible and still be effective.
The kelp you are taking is a good idea, but it’s just one way to aid in healthy hair growth. The body needs a number of vitamins and minerals to renew its cells and stay healthy. Be sure to eat adequate amounts of protein, and foods rich in fatty acids, and vitamins A, C, D and E. All of these are good for promoting the growth and health of skin and hair.
