Homemade Remedies To Get Rid Of Acne

Acne vulgaris (commonly called acne) is a common skin disease, caused by changes in pilosebaceous units, skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous glands, via androgen stimulation. Acne is the term for plugged pores (blackheads and whiteheads), pimples, and even deeper lumps (cysts or nodules) that may occur on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and even the upper arms. The disease is not restricted to any particular age group; it can affect teenagers to adults up to the age of 40. Sometimes severe acne can lead to serious and permanent scarring. Even less severe cases can lead to scarring.

Several factors contribute to the development of acne. Bacteria that normally live on the skin also play a role in acne development. The bacteria known as Propionibacterium acnes are responsible for causing acne. These bacteria produce substances that cause redness and irritation. Certain hormones called Androgen are an additional factor in causing acne.

In order to get acne free, clear healthy skin, proper care should be taken:

1. Wash the skin once or twice daily with soap and water to remove excess oil.

2. Home made facial scrubs can be used to exfoliate the face regularly. Avoid abrasive scrubbing because this can cause acne to worsen.

3. A paste of two table spoon of almond powder, one table spoon of milk and one table spoon of orange juice can be used as a scrub.

4. Tomato juice can be applied to the face which act as a good antioxidant and help the skin to generate healthy looking skin.

5. Cucumber juice can be used for acne scar. It not only lightens the skin tone but also tightens the facial pores.

6. Anti acne cream can also be used for skin rashes and acne scar.

7. Massaging the affected part gently with olive oil also help in fading acne scar.

8. Herbal beauty products containing essential oils like Tea Tree oil, clove oil, Lavender oil, Rose wood oil and Eucalyptus oil are quite helpful in removing scars due to acne.

9. Take 2 tablespoons of orange peel powder and add 4 tablespoons of yoghurt in it. Mix well and make paste of it. Now apply this paste all over the face, while gently rubbing in circular motion. After sometime, wash it off with cold water. It is an ideal mask to extract dirt and oil from the clogged pores. It also opens the clogged pores that cause acne and blackheads.

10. Take a few pods of cloves and roast them dry in a pan. Powder them and add a little curd to make paste of it. Apply this paste on the pimples and leave it to dry. Wash off after the application has dried. This treatment is particularly good for the people who have oily skin.

These skin remedies are based on our common house hold spices, fruits, vegetables or sometimes specific herbs. Herbal remedies are obtained from a wide variety of natural resources including plant leaves, bark, berries, and roots. Natural skin care products are safe and easy to use as they have no side effects.
As far as home remedies are concerned, we must keep in mind that these are not miraculous, rather they are slow in action, and need to be used thoroughly and consistently over a long period. Therefore, it is always recommended to take the advice of a health care professional before taking our health in our hands.

Photography And The Cell Phone

Nearly every modern cell phone (telefone celular) has a camera feature. Though they are far away from modern age digital camera, cell phone cameras can still be used to produce good quality photographs.

The cell phone (telefone celular) has some additional features that are not yet available on digital cameras and so may even be able to provide some advantages. The best way to obtain quality photographs is to understand the specifications that are available on these devices, enabling you to make an informed decision when choosing your mobile product, ensuring that it meets your requirements.

The size of the cell phone (telefone celular) screen will affect the quality of viewing on your phone only. It will not affect the quality of your photograph when downloaded to your computer. However, the pixels that your cell phone camera uses will affect the quality of the image a great deal. The minimum resolution you should use is 1.0 mega pixels if photographic images are an important feature for you.

Higher resolution of 3.0 mega pixels and up is available on current cell phones (telefone celular). The higher the number of pixels, the better quality the photographic image will be when reproduced. This is because the pixels are the amount of dots used to create the image; the more that are used, the less the image will break up when enlarged.

The memory size of your device will directly affect the number of photographs that you can store. This will affect your output, and also give you less scope for getting that perfect shot. Your device will detail how much memory it contains, and this amount is usually very low, to store only a few photographic images.

However, the memory capacity can be supplemented by purchasing a memory card that is compatible with your cell phone (telefone celular). The largest currently available is as much as 2 Gigabytes, which can store large numbers of photographs. The exact number will vary as the number of pixels directly affects the amount of memory used. The settings of your picture image can often be changed also. The picture quality is better the higher the resolution you choose. Lower resolutions take up less memory and so can be useful if you just want to send images to friends and family, if are running low on space or if the quality is not of importance.

It is also important that you can store your pictures. If you purchase a cell phone memory card (telefone celular), make sure that it also be compatible with your computer or that it can be hooked up to a USB that is computer compatible. Your device should also come with a USB that you can use to download your pictures. This enables you to clear your cell phone regularly, maximising the use of the camera feature. Once stored, your photographs can be manipulated using programs such as Photoshop, as with any other photographic image.

A major advantage of a camera is that it can be used to send pictures direct to friends and family with a compatible cell phone (telefone celular). These can be sent via multi media messages, which although relatively expensive are now appearing in cell phone contracts as part of a package.

Digital photos can also be sent via email if the cell phone (telefone celular) is internet enabled. Any photographic image can be sent for free via infra red or Bluetooth to another compatible device. This is an excellent way of sharing images, without the need for downloading first, which is both fast and functional. This means cell phones do have an advantage over other photographic devices to a degree, as they do not yet have this feature.

What Goes into Shampoos?

People used to boil soap in water to create the very earliest shampoos that we would recognize. But what about before soap? Before that it was made from rice and straw ash mixed with water to form some sort of hair potion. The first person who is credited to have made shampoo is Herbert Kasey.

Todays shampoo is made from water, sodium laureth and other chemicals. The common argument against shampoo is that as well as taking the dirt out of your hair it also strips some of the necessary oils out of it. Over time you will need to keep using shampoo more often to maintain good looking hair due to the naturally appearing oils produced by the scalp which are stripped away. For this reason there are a number of organic shampoos on the market.

Organic shampoos are made from natural ingredients such as plants and oils. Aloe Vera is one oil which is particularly popular in shampoos. There are lots of different types of organic shampoos made from mint, lavender oil, pomegranate and cinnamon to name a few. The good thing about organic products is that you can relax about what the shampoo is doing to your hair and scalp. Unless you have any allergies its only going to beneficial.

Look out for small print which can claim that the shampoo is actually only seventy to eighty percent organic. There is a brand of shampoo named Hempz which is created entirely from hemp seed oil but this is not often the case.

Shampoos can claim to be organic if they have more than seventy percent naturally occurring ingredients within the product. It wouldn’t be far fetched to assume that an organic shampoo is only made from organic products but that is often the case these days. Consumers are increasingly aware of the chemicals that are included in products and are often looking for environmentally friendliness as well as value.

Black Hair Care Products !?

I’m a Black female with long hair. It’s 3 inches above my backside. I always get the stupid “What are you mixed with” question, lol. & the answer is black and more black!. Lately I have been leaving it out and people have been running their hands through it but for some reason it’s been feeling dry and I’m starting to get split ends. I usually do my hair myself and I cut it every week, but I know I need to do something else with it & with work and school it’s usually put up in a bun like my avatar. So any tips? On managing split ends and dealing with dry hair? Any good Black Hair Care or good hair care products out there?
Any tips?
BTW, I use Dr. Miracles, Castor Oil and Carrot Oil.

You should just chop the split ends before they spread up the hair strand. Also you can try hot oil treatments and do deep conditioning every week. Maybe you can try to learn about essential and carrier oils. Try MotownGirl.com

Hey ya’ll, I’m a proud multiracial lady (1/2 Swedish, 1/4 African, and 1/4 Venezuelan). I totally pass for white, have pale ivory skin, and haven’t had much contact with my black part of the family growing up, therefore I’ve never received advice about my ethnic textured hair. It’s not totally black or white textured, it’s mixed girl hair, along the lines of Pebbles, Alicia Keys, or Rashida Jones. When I was a teenager I used stuff like African Pride grease, and it seems like most black hair care products have petroleum jelly/greasy main ingredients in them that ultimately make my face shiny for some reason too lol. I have a large volume/number of hairs to begin with, and it seems like whenever I bathe (daily) and wash/condition my hair there’s always this big clump of hair in the drain/hair trap. Can anyone recommend a good product to prevent or reduce hair breakage, specifically for mixed or black textured hair that isn’t greasy to the touch? Help a 1/4 Sista out, thanks! ~Emmy

There’s a lot to cover here, but i’ll try to make it short as possible! This is a lot of information, but it’s a lot easier than it sounds. Once you get the hang of it, it’s easy as pie.
It’s good that you’ve noticed that most ethnic hair care products contain petroleum/mineral oil/paraffin. Those ingredients are really bad for ethnic hair, even though they are included in 90% of them. They coat your hair strands which prevents them from absorbing moisture and clog up your scalp which inhibits hair growth. For people with thinner hair like yours, the grease may not hold as well in your hair and run down onto your face. Try to avoid using products that list them in the first 5 ingredients routinely. http://www.nappturality.com/modules/wfse…http://nappyme.wordpress.com/2007/01/02/…
Try using products that are made specifically for bi-racial/multiethnic people in mind. They contain a little less oil than most African American products but are much more nourishing than the average product for Caucasian hair. They work best when applied on wet hair. Here’s a few of them

As far as stopping breakage here are a few tips:
*Use a protein based deep conditioner. Aphogee’s Two Step Protein Treatment is a good thing to use once every 3-4 months to stop breakage.

* Don’t wash your hair everyday! If you are, that’s probably the main reason your hair is breaking off. Generally kinky haired people should only shampoo their hair once a week with a sulfate-free shampoo like the ones from these lines. Since you’re mixed and your hair might be straighter, you might do it twice week.

*If your hair is more on the kinky or curly side, co-washing may be a good idea from you. It’s when you do away with shampoos altogether and wash your hair only with conditioner. Conditioners don’t contain sulfates, which are harsh chemicals that damage ethnic hair by stripping them of all their oils/moisture. Conditioners still have other less harsh detergents in them that will work to clean your hair, but without leaving it dry and brittle. The good thing about co-washing is that you can do it more often than shampooing. (Up to once a day). Most people report an increase of moisture with this technique, increased growth, and less breakage.http://www.naturallyyoumagazine.com/cont…
*You should only be using a wide tooth comb on your hair. Fine tooth combs are not good for ethnic hair and create breakage. It’s good to detangle your hair in the shower when it’s loaded with conditioner. Take the wide tooth comb and grip your hair at the base. Start combing from the bottom and work your way up to the top. The comb should come through your hair with a lot less breakage than normal.
I’m sorry your family didn’t work to expose you to the black side of your heritage. It’s cool that you’ve begun to learn on your own :D

How To Achieve A Jet-black Lock?

Brown, auburn, red, purple, blonde, blue and grayish…

It seems like colored hair has becomes a trend everywhere. Today, it is very difficult to find if anyone is spotted on the street with black hair. Either it is the improvement of hair coloring tools, or perhaps that is the way the society views beauty and black hair is always dull.

However, black hair actually stands out more. Look at the example like Ashlee Simpson; doesn’t she look much better and sharp when she was a brunette? Besides, shouldn’t it be easier to take care of black hair because it is darker in color rather than using a bunch of color stay products?

Theoretically, it should be simpler to take care of black hair because of its color. A normal step of shampoo, conditioning and a hair mask weekly should do the job. However, that is no longer the case; everyone wanted a jet-black lock that looks absolutely glorious.

The color of jet-black is not easily achievable because most of the natural hair has a hint of brownish in it. Only a handful of the black haired comes with total jet-black luscious hair.
In order to make that happen, Chinese recommended a type of herb, which is known as shou-wu. The usual way of using it is to boil it as soup and mix with a few ingredients. It will also have to be taken daily for its optimum effect. It tastes quite bitter, but I guess it will never stop anyone who wants to look pretty. Most of the shampoos for black hair care available in the market have incorporated shou-wu as one of the ingredients. Apart from that, it also promises to induce hair growth, which makes hair thicker and prettier.

Besides herb, black hair care will also include cutting the long hair from time to time. This is because the longer the hair is, the more protein will be needed to ensure that the hair is getting enough nutrients to maintain healthy. Therefore, the shorter the hair, the easier it is to have a richer and shinier color. Not to mention, it is easier to style too with a shorter hair!!

OK, I’m of mixed heritage so I’ll try to help if you are really serious hear, be careful, you little girls hair is most likely very delicate but curly. Brush it don’t let it tangle or mat. Brush it carefully don’t force or pull it. Brush it with a good brush not hard metal or untipped plastic.Try parting in the center and two pony tails, use the covered hair bands not rubber bands.
