Black Women's Hair Care?
Ok, I’m looking for some great hair maintenance tips to begin doing my own hair. I want to use some professional, retail products, but I don’t know where to find them. I also need some stying tips. Like, how to curl, flat iron, etc. I have a problem when I flat iron my hair, it tends to break off easily. I have thick, shoulder-length, relaxed, healthy hair (from going to the salon for the pass two years). I need some professional black hair care tips! Please and Thank You
For strenght since you want pofessional products try:aphogee two step protein tretment (can be found at sallys). For taking care of your hair try keracare products they are really good (you can find them at JCPenney,or a local beauty salon store and of course online)http://www.avlon.com/keracare.htmlhttp://www.metrobeauty.com/cart.cfm?cart…
about flat ironing try keeping it to the minimum :appl a heat protector on 80 % or 100% dry hair the blowdry and flat iron thin parts of hair for silkier look.ceramic irons are always good.
you can curl hair with rollers or barell irons.Rollerset is better. For the barel iron :Wash and condition hair. Apply setting lotion, and then comb using a wide-toothed comb.
Set blow dryer to a warm setting when hair is about 80% dry (for less damage) . Blow dry hair, working from one section to the next. Relaxed hair has a lot of texture, so start at the root of your scalp and work your way down. Run the blow dryer through your entire head, making sure to get hair as straight as possible until dry.
Plug in your curling iron. While it is warming up, divide your hair in sections using hair clips. To prepare for curling, start at the back of your head and release one clip. Use a fine-toothed comb to smooth out any kinks in your hair.
Close the curling iron around the top portion of the hair. Slide the curling iron down the length of the hair until the iron reaches the end. Next, curl hair under and hold for about 20 seconds. Release hair from the curling iron. Avoid disturbing the curl. Continue this process throughout your entire head, being careful not to touch your scalp.
Lightly spray your hair with an oil sheen spray. Use your fingers to style your hair. Do not use a comb or you will lose your curls. Once you have finger-styled your hair, use a holding spray to help your style stay in place
