We Could Be Heroes

<img src="http://www.buzzle.com/img/articleImages/441428-45.jpg" width="340" height="234" alt="We Could Be Heroes" class="ImgBorder"

This is a story that I jumped out of bed this morning with the idea, so make sure you comment and/or vote in the poll (Almost at the end of the page) or email me. I do answer emails if you have any questions or such that you would like to ask. Have a nice read.

“…The Prince could not bear to part from his little love again, so he carried her back to the palace in his grand coach, and they were married that very day. Cinderella’s stepsisters were present at the feast, but in the place of honor sat the fairy Godmother.

So the poor little cinder maid married the Prince, and in time they came to be King and Queen, and lived happily ever after. The end,” Keri said to her daughter, who was sitting in her lap. She was almost three years old now, with her lovely blonde hair and bright blue eyes she was the cutest child anywhere.

“Do you think I could marry a prince someday, Momma?” she asked excitedly.

“Anything could happen, dear. Just remember me when you get big and famous, ok?” she answered with a smile.

“I will, Momma, I will.”

~*~*~

Nineteen years later Mari stood behind the curtain waiting for the speaker to finish her speech and announced her. She wore a dress raped over her curves and fell from her hips to just above the black floor. It was a sparkling gold that shimmered like it had a life of its own and it complimented her lush red hair. She had died it a couple months ago.

She was thinking about her mom, and how that was the last time she had really ever seen her happy. Being almost three at the time did not deter the memories that were forever scarred into memories.

She was brought back to the present by her name being said.

“Here tonight we have the renounced Mari Lydia!” the man said as she started onto stage.

“Hello everybody, how’s it going? Is everyone ready to party because I know I am!” she said with a grin.

Her talent for singing and writing songs had been found when she was eighteen. She had moved out of her foster home by then and was singing for money at the local club that Decan Beckham, a talent scout, was at. He asked her the very next day if she wanted to be famous. Her reply had been, “Ever since I was little.”

After that, the years seemed to fly by, and almost before she knew what was going on she was so rich she could roll in it. By the time she was 21 she had had 9 top ten hits.

The crowd waited with baited breath as she began and let out a gasped at the loveliness of her new single that was going to set the bar on the top ten list for weeks.

“…and now the tide of love, that brought you to me, is ripping us apart! Oh why, oh why, oh why me? Why me? Why not them? Why not her and him?”

She had wrote the song soon after she had first gained her stardom and she met him. He was everything she had wanted in a man. He was handsome, and thoughtful. He listened when she spoke and was there when she needed him. When the press found out about her dad and posted it on the front of newspapers and magazines all across the world, he was there for her.

He was everything to her. Until the night she found him bragging to his friends that he was dating a star and she was really good in the sack and one of his friends should try her after he was done with her. Not in those exact words, but to that effect. That was the end of their relationship.

It had taken years to get over him, not that she would let him know that, since she want on many dates, many of which her manager arranged for her. She finally decided it was time to get over him and sing the song as a last fair-the-well to what she thought they had.

She was right, it was a hit.

After the show she felt better than she had in years. It was finally over. Now she could get on with her life and really get back into the dating scene. She even had a couple ideas for who she should ask out.

“I love you, momma and I miss you very much. I wish you could see me now. You would be so proud of me,” she thought while looking in the mirror at her face, so much like her mother’s. She grabbed her purse and went for the door when it suddenly open before she had her hand on the handle.

She took one look at who it was and fainted. There, standing in the door way was the man she had just gotten over.

YouTube - Shea Butter On VOA’s In Focus

A look at how Mali women make and sell Shea butter in Africa.

My hair falls out all the time, it’s not like I have bald spots or anything, but it’s just an overall loss of a LOT of hair. If you can’t picture it, just imagine that if I put a Bumpit in my hair, that you’d see most of it, and wouldn’t have the thickness or volume to hide it. I feel like I’m shedding more than 100 hairs a day or whatever, too. It’s extremely thin, and I just hide it with curls, but it’s acutally like … half the thickness of someone with regular thinning hair, lol. It’s thin, ya’ll. But, I hide it well and style it to make it look alright. I’m just tired of doing that. I want each individual strand of my hair to be thicker. And I damaged it with perming and braiding it. So now, my hair is actually a lot lighter naturally than it used to be. It used to be like black but now it’s reddish brown from just being thinner, I guess. It was not this thin naturally. It was a medium thickness and was somewhat textured. It was pretty good, before. It grew extremely long, then, too. So I know my hair isn’t just naturally this flat and thin. I did this to myself.
Should I use amla, henna and indigo (natural, not the ones w/ chemicals)? I read that that was really good.
But what else will help? Do any products actually thicken and regrow hair, or no? Nioxin? Is that real? Or any good? =) I need advice, I’m tired of doing my hair all the time.

as we know hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.
year ago I suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.
the things that really worked for me was:
1) Vitamin A – an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;
2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The ‘B’ vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;
3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;
4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);
5) also he used herbal treatment – TrichoZed or Provillus (do not use Rogaine – it will not work!)
Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!
It worked and still works for me!
I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product herehttp://www.trichozed.info/ingredients.ph…
(TrichoZed™ will produce noticeable hair growth in 30 to 45 days. A consistent use of TrichoZed™ ensures permanent results within 6 months. Further use shall maintain optimal health of your hair.)
and here http://www.provilluss.info
(Provillus™ will produce noticeable hair growth in 40. A consistent use of TrichoZed™ ensures permanent results within ~5 months.)
It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) – a major cause of hair loss!
good luck!
not only my own personal experience + working as a family physician

I’m am experience hair breakage. But I was told dye your hair black won’t damage it too much. As anyone dyed their hair after chemically straightening it and if so was there any extreme side effects?

It is okay to dye your hair 2 weeks after relaxing it. But, you got to get your hair healthy again first – trims, conditioning and eating right. Dying it again, right now with only damage it further. If you were to do it now, your hair will likely become brittle and break off ( not a fun experience ).

Hey ya’ll, I’m a proud multiracial lady (1/2 Swedish, 1/4 African, and 1/4 Venezuelan). I totally pass for white, have pale ivory skin, and haven’t had much contact with my black part of the family growing up, therefore I’ve never received advice about my ethnic textured hair. It’s not totally black or white textured, it’s mixed girl hair, along the lines of Pebbles, Alicia Keys, or Rashida Jones. When I was a teenager I used stuff like African Pride grease, and it seems like most black hair care products have petroleum jelly/greasy main ingredients in them that ultimately make my face shiny for some reason too lol. I have a large volume/number of hairs to begin with, and it seems like whenever I bathe (daily) and wash/condition my hair there’s always this big clump of hair in the drain/hair trap. Can anyone recommend a good product to prevent or reduce hair breakage, specifically for mixed or black textured hair that isn’t greasy to the touch? Help a 1/4 Sista out, thanks! ~Emmy

There’s a lot to cover here, but i’ll try to make it short as possible! This is a lot of information, but it’s a lot easier than it sounds. Once you get the hang of it, it’s easy as pie.
It’s good that you’ve noticed that most ethnic hair care products contain petroleum/mineral oil/paraffin. Those ingredients are really bad for ethnic hair, even though they are included in 90% of them. They coat your hair strands which prevents them from absorbing moisture and clog up your scalp which inhibits hair growth. For people with thinner hair like yours, the grease may not hold as well in your hair and run down onto your face. Try to avoid using products that list them in the first 5 ingredients routinely. http://www.nappturality.com/modules/wfse…http://nappyme.wordpress.com/2007/01/02/…
Try using products that are made specifically for bi-racial/multiethnic people in mind. They contain a little less oil than most African American products but are much more nourishing than the average product for Caucasian hair. They work best when applied on wet hair. Here’s a few of them

As far as stopping breakage here are a few tips:
*Use a protein based deep conditioner. Aphogee’s Two Step Protein Treatment is a good thing to use once every 3-4 months to stop breakage.
www.aphogee.comhttp://forum.blackhairmedia.com/forum_po…
* Don’t wash your hair everyday! If you are, that’s probably the main reason your hair is breaking off. Generally kinky haired people should only shampoo their hair once a week with a sulfate-free shampoo like the ones from these lines. Since you’re mixed and your hair might be straighter, you might do it twice week.

*If your hair is more on the kinky or curly side, co-washing may be a good idea from you. It’s when you do away with shampoos altogether and wash your hair only with conditioner. Conditioners don’t contain sulfates, which are harsh chemicals that damage ethnic hair by stripping them of all their oils/moisture. Conditioners still have other less harsh detergents in them that will work to clean your hair, but without leaving it dry and brittle. The good thing about co-washing is that you can do it more often than shampooing. (Up to once a day). Most people report an increase of moisture with this technique, increased growth, and less breakage.http://www.naturallyyoumagazine.com/cont…
*You should only be using a wide tooth comb on your hair. Fine tooth combs are not good for ethnic hair and create breakage. It’s good to detangle your hair in the shower when it’s loaded with conditioner. Take the wide tooth comb and grip your hair at the base. Start combing from the bottom and work your way up to the top. The comb should come through your hair with a lot less breakage than normal.
I’m sorry your family didn’t work to expose you to the black side of your heritage. It’s cool that you’ve begun to learn on your own :D

I used herbal essence, mizani, and right now im using sunsilk and they all do nothing but make my hair hard and dry any other shampoo that can make my hair soft and manageable??

stop using shampoo and just use conditioner, there are enough surfactants in conditioner to cleanse your hair without drying it out

Can you please provide me with the following:
1. Total US sales for the Hair Care Industry (last 3-5 years)
2. Contribution of US sales from the Ethnic Hair Care Industry (last 3-5 years)
3. Growth trends by segment
4. Forecast for next 3-5 years
5. Top 3-5 companies in the ethnic hair care industry
Thank you

Yahoo Answers is not how to do research.

I will be importing goods from abroad which are of high quality . They are basically herbal hair and skin care products.

You really should go for the smaller markets that focus on the higher end clients. This is where you may have a shot at making money.
Walmart is NOT the way.
